West Bend 33600 100-Cup Commercial Coffee Urn Review

I purchased two of these a year ago to use in a ministry that serves people who are homeless. The coffee pots are very well constructed and are sturdy enough to be lugged back and forth in their boxes in the back of a pickup hundreds of miles on rough roads and still look and work good!
They are comfortingly noisy and I love that while I wait the hour for the coffee to brew it smells fabulous! The coffee comes out a good strength (I use a pretty coarse grind of dark roast coffee) and nice and hot. I’ve had no trouble with leakage at spout or lid.
Bonus points for getting them for each on a gold box deal. If they put them on again, I’ll be buying two more to use for hot water for hot chocolate and tea.
Oh, and clean up is a breeze!

We bought this item after reading it’s the best overall coffeemaker in Consumer Reports. The only complaints we have is the control setting buttons are somewhat small and hard to read, the digital clock is not illuminated and the water-fill line is not visable from exterior of machine. Otherwise, it lives up to its reputation, makes terrific coffee (much better than our old Black & Decker), keeps coffee warm for up to 3 hrs and carafe is comfortable to use, easy to clean. Worth the money.

I have been trying to get that perfect cup of coffee at home for ever. Now I know how to do it BUY A BUNN VPR/POUROVER COFFEE BREWER and begin enjoying virtually perfect coffee everytime. I don’t claim to understand why, but this machine just makes a better cup of coffee than any other machine I’ve ever tried. (and I’ve tried a lot!) I’m a coffee lover but there was always something about the coffee brewed at home that was’nt quite right. NO MORE. This thing makes 12 cups of outstanding coffee in just about 3 minutes. Of course the right beans and grinding just before brewing is important, but this machine makes a difference. highly reccommended. I like those BUNNS!
